SPRING, SUMMER FASHION TRENDS 2012

On to Gucci – a rare season with neither Natasha Poly nor Raquel Zimmermann included – Joan Smalls, Karmen Pedaru and newcomer Hailey Clauson were chosen to be the Gucci girls, photographed by Mert & Marcus. Fifteen year-old Californian Hailey Clauson joked about her part on twitter (@Hailey_Clauson) “Gucci s/s11 campaign is out!! I was hired to be in the backround, and this has opened allot of doors for me with some special people. If my hand makes it in the campaign im happy!! The photos look amazing!!. Kinda cute, no?

Karlie Kloss nabs her third consecutive campaign for Christian Dior. (Little Kar looks so much like a 30s Hollywood screen siren… Greta Garbo?)

Louis Vuitton does opulence this season. Starring veteran model Kristen McMenamy, Raquel Zimmermann and Freja Beha, the campaign screams rich, rich, rich.

Sticking to the all-British cast rule, English Socialite, model and actress Poppy Delevingne’s little sister Cara is the face of Burberry this season, together with Jacob Young, they are photographed on a rocky shore by photographer Mario Testino.

With Vogue UK and Nippon already churning out March issues, most of the Spring/Summer 2011 campaigns from major fashion houses have been unveiled, and here let’s take a look at some of them starting from Marc by Marc Jacobs, which is shot by Jurgen Teller as usual, starring Ginta Lapina, model of the moment – the very androgynous Andre Pejic and Jaco Van Den Hoven. Andre recently closed the Jean Paul Gaultier couture show as the finale bride and now he is already bagging campaigns! Shows that designers’ infatuation with gender-bending is going strong.

Also shot by Juergen Teller is the Celine campaign featuring Daria Werbowy and Stella Tennant. Unlike the last two season, the S/S 11 campaign veered towards a slightly more youthful vibe with skateboards and poker card.

Jil Sander‘s campaigns have always stood out with their minimalist approach – this season it’s all about clashing colours and bold stripes – featuring Daria Strokous, the model who closed the S/S 11 Jil Sander show on her birthday.

Chloe enlisted David Sims to shoot the clean but ultra girlish campaign for Spring, starring Iselin Steiro and Malgosia Bela. It is simply a lovely sight to see models actually smiling in campaigns these days, this one is particularly sweet.
